I have a dell Inspiron laptop just over a year old, I paid maybe 400 for it or 450. It was a lower end one it had an i3 in it and integrated graphics and a 750GB HDD and like 4 GB of ram. Now I can work my way around a PC pretty good but this laptop just frustrates the crap out of me, the minor problem I have with it is it blue screens and beeps once and a while and I have to hold down the power button to shut it off, doesn't happen that much and there's no pattern to it(its not certain programs or overheating) it doesn't bother me that much as it doesn't happen often and I know it's prob just a slightly messed up hard drive. But the thing that really bothers me is how fucking hot it gets, I could good my breakfast on this stupid computer. I only use it on a flat surface and some times ill sit in bed and have it angled up toward me so the sides and bottom are fully exposed to the air, yet it gets so hot some time If I hold my fingers on certain spots for too long I could literally burn myself. I have no idea why it's doing this and I just did a restore to factory settings and wiped all my data off it and it still does it. Is there any way to fix this? I don't really want to take it apart but I will if I have to maybe it's just dust build up.

Get a can of compressed air and shoot it into the vents. That should clear some of the dust out. My laptop had this problem.

Setup: i5 4670k @ 4.2 Ghz, Corsair H100i Cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB Ram @ 1600 Mhz, MSI Z87-GD65 Motherboard, Corsair GS700 2013 edition PSU, MSI GTX 770 Lightning, Samsung EVO 120 SSD + 2TB&1TB Seagate Barracudas, BenQ XL2411T Monitor, Sennheiser HD 598 Headphones + AntLion ModMic 4.0

Should I just shoot some air into it or take it apart first to see if it actually is dust? And If its not dust what could the problem be

You could shoot air into the laptop exhausts and openings to see if there is dust in it. If dust is not causing the problem you might need to replace your thermal compound on your cpu to get better heat dissipation.
