My PC does not power on. There are blinking green lights over each of the 6 pin connectors on my GTX 760, but no lights at all on the MOBO (should be some status lights on at least). No light on case power button either or anywhere else in the PC (I have no RGB). The RGB on my mouse and on the bluetooth USB receiver are both blinking as well (both plugged into MOBO USB sockets).

Pretty sure PSU is not the problem because when I unplug the 24 pin connector and jump the fan (green) wire and the ground, it powers up the fans no problem (not just PSU fan, but also case fans connected directly to the PSU).

CPU was lightly OC'd and I never had any stability issues.

I have tried:

  • Removing MOBO battery for a minute and reinserting
  • Resetting CMOS using the CMOS jumpers
  • Using on-board power button on for the MOBO
  • Unplugging all peripherals/displays/etc. and trying to power on.
  • Unplugging everything from the MOBO and back in.
    • Including RAM, GPU, CPU power, 24 pin power, all SATA, all front I/O, fans, etc.
  • Trying each RAM stick individually
  • Turning PSU on/off, plugging into different wall sockets, holding power button for 20 seconds, trying again, etc.

I had an issue earlier where I had the PC unplugged when I was moving, then when I plugged it back in, it had exactly this issue. However after about an hour of being plugged in, the lights on the GPU went solid green (instead of blinking), and it worked fine. This time, the PC was unplugged for about 2 days, and it never sorted itself out like it did last time.

Is my MOBO dead? I literally did not change anything from when it was last working which was only a few days ago. No new peripherals, the case was closed, etc. The system is pretty old but I find it odd that it was working fine and stopped working after being unplugged for a bit.

Any advice will be appreciated.

Jumping the power supply essentially does nothing except tell you the power supply can turn its fans and any lights it might have on. It's definitely not a test meant to confirm whether your power supply is perfectly fine or not. That brings me to another point. Is the brand of your power supply "TOP", if so it's some off brand I've never heard of and that makes it 10x more likely to be the issue. Although I think you may have just supplied the incorrect name to us?
