Antlion USB adapter

LethoX

Anyone know if this (https://antlionaudio.com/collections/accessories/products/antlion-audio-usb-adapter) would be an improvement over my motherboard (https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Z170-PRO-GAMING/)
Because right now I'm having problems with my microphone volume being too quiet. I have to blast up the gain just for people to hear me the slightest.

So basically: Would antlion improve microphone problems while improving overall sound of the headphone aswell?

I went to the website shown looking for some specs on the device but unfortunately none are given or shown.  But, reading through all the descriptions and everything listed on the support page, I would "assume" this device is what you are looking for.  When installing, just make sure to follow the directions given.  I copied them from their page so that I could paste them here.  Information follows:.........

Most audio settings have a mic boost and an adjustable mic gain. For Windows 10, this is found by going to Sound -> Recording Devices, and selecting the properties of your microphone.

Step 1: For mics in uni-directional mode (noise cancelling): ensure that the Mic icon on the tip of the boom (just before the pop filter) is facing your mouth.

Step 2: Ensure that Automatic Gain Control (AGC) or similar automated sound levels are turned off.

Step 3: Bend the mic closer to your mouth, but be sure to avoid your breath stream.

Step 4: Adjust the mic gain up until your voice is clear. You can listen to your own mic in the “Listen” tab in the properties of your mic. You can also add boost, but note that higher gain and higher boost may also increase “white noise” in the background.

Just wanted to say the USB will solve this problem pretty much across the board.

However @kb5zue thanks for reposting that from our FAQ. It actually brings up the point I need to change Step 2, as we've reversed our stance on AGC. While for audio purists with good gear its not good to use AGC, for anyone suffering from problems it usually does more good than harm. So for anyone who's reading this and looking at our FAQ and realizes they're not at all the same that's why ;)

So thanks for bringing that to my attention and helping out!
