Monitor for new gaming rig

Hello all,

 

Was wondering if anyone can hlep me please.

 

I am not sure as to what monitor should I get for a new gaming rig Im building.

 

Should I go for 4k or 144 Hz, I am aiming at 27 inch one just not sure about the rest.

 

Will be using Asus STRIX-GTX1080Ti-O11G-GAMING, NVIDIA GeForce, GTX1080Ti, PCIe 3.0 x16, 11264 MB, GDDR5, 352-bit with a Intel i7 8700k proccessor.

 

If you could please let me know, what to aim for, as I have been out of the gaming pc building for a long time :)
