I know I should get the hd 7950, but I don't have the budget quite yet, so I was wondering if I should get the 660 now and wait for gtx 700/hd 8000 series, or wait and get the 7950?

The GTX 550 Ti is still a pretty good card for games. I would wait for the next generation cards to come out before upgrading.

upgrading to a 7950 would be best. the 660 is a good card but the 7950 is more value as it is a beast overclocker and you get a load of free games!
