Im buying this cooler on my gigabyte r9 280x.My concerns is the cooling fins on the vram.Somekind glue is used to put them on or something.Someone says you can remove them later, and someone says you can't.Anyone here with personal experience?

nzxt make a hybrid cooler which is much better for cooling the vrm which needs to be cooled.

It doesn't work with the H60. You need something like the H55 or Kraken series.

I wouldn't recommend getting the all-in-one watercooler. If you get something like DCUII, Windoforce 3, or Vapor X cooler then you wouldn't need it.

Those CLC units will have much lower GPU core temps then any air cooler could hope for. That's actually the best use for them, they're marginal improvements over air on a CPU, they're tremendous improvements for GPU's.

Have you tested this? If not, do you have any numbers to prove this? Linus tested with a X40 on a R9 290 and only got about 5 FPS. Also the temperature achieved by the air coolers are already good enough. They wouldn't damage your card until they hit about 90C.

To the OP:

Are you sure a glue is used? Not a thermal pad or thermal paste. It might just be cheap hardened thermal paste. At any rate, isopropyl should wash it off.
