XMP failure

I have a 8700 i7 paired with a z370 taichi motherboard, and Corsair Dominator DDR4. But every time I turn on the XMP switch, I cant even get it to POST. Cant reach bios, I have to clear the CMOS and disable the XMP switch again. Any Ideas?
