help Need help finding a suitable cpu for me

Hello I need some help finding a suitable cpu for me. I will be gaming at 1440p 144hz and with a next gen mid ranged gpu (planning to buy 16gb ddr4 3000mhz ram). During gaming i would be multitasking at the same time with at least 15+ tabs of chrome open, which would be a mixture of highest quality youtube videos, twitch streams, and browsing/social media. I would also be running applications during gaming such as nvidia shadowplay, Google play music, skype/discord, and some other programs. I currently have a ryzen 5 1400 and the cpu usage is very high at 80+% always and very low fps/fps drops which is quite sad and frustrating :(. Which cpu would be best and most suitable for my needs? Ty :).

1600 Ryzen would be good!

cost is $188

Go from 4 cores 8 threads to 6 and 12, then OC it if you got a B class mobo, or AB.

 

Also buy a better gpu!

I'm afraid 16GBs of RAM isn't enough for you. You need at least 32, and for CPU then go for Ryzen 7 1800x

 

Also, do you mind me asking, wtf are you doing while gaming?

Yes that makes perfect sense. 144hz gaming is very CPU intensive. Switching to Intel for the much higher IPCs makes a ton more sense.

Damn that sounds expensive af :/. While I game i have tabs open on another screen to watch YouTube, twitch streams, browse in general and use social media. I also play music while I game and record gameplay, I also have skype/discord open if I'm talking with anyone at the time.

No not rich at all unfortunately :/. My dad's pc which is like a decade old finally broke so i was planning on giving this one to him and just get another for myself anyways.

the only scenario where that's appplicable is if you have 20 plus copies of something like CS open
