alright, this problem has been driving me crazy.been going on for 6 months now.

you can read the full story, but ill put a TL;DR at the end.

so i have a macbook air(dont remember the model)

but i decided to install windows through bootcamp,so i did that, but when selecting the partition for the new windows system,i couldnt allocate more than like 10 gigs of storage to windows, that sucks but i tried bypassing it by purchasing a hard drive.

now for whatever goddamn reason, the harddrive disconnects randomly, which interrupts anything running on it and corrupts downloads.

i seem to only have this problem on my macbook, the harddrive works just fine on other devices.

TL;DR :the hdd disconnects randomly on my macbook which corrupts downloads and interrupts and programs running on the hdd.but it doesnt disconnect on other pcs.

any help is appreciated, this is really annoying

If it's disconnecting on one pc, but not on others, then one possible culprit lies in your energy settings. In Energy Saver (under System Preferences), there is a box you can uncheck that says something like "Put hard disks to sleep when possible", you can find more info at the following Apple Support article.
