you will need to reactivate Windows 10. otherwise it should just startup fine and reload all drivers before getting into desktop.

Daewoo Lacetti Premiere 2011 1.8L with Chevrolet badges on it = Better graphics than NFS in VR. 

Daewoo Leganza 1999 2.0L  as a summer weekend car. 

Otherwise my daily rig is some oem pcchips motherboard with intel 486-dx4 in it overclocked to 133mhz and watercooled with astonishing 24MB RAM and superb S3 Virge DX graphics with 4MB of VRAM for best performance in heavy 3D apps and games and with 850mb WD Caviar 4200RPM HDD for maximum storage space and speed.

Running  Windows 95 OSR2.5 with IE4 for amazing internet browsing experience

all this in glorious desktop case in elephant bone color.

Windows 10 won't act up at all provided you sysprep your HDD before transferring it.

 

Also, you will need to buy DDR4 memory so make sure that fits in the budget. Depending on your current CPU cooler, that may also be in need of replacement moving to a newer platform.

In my experience Windows 10 handles it like a champ. You might run into some activation issues if you were using an OEM key, but a call into microsoft usually gets it activated.

 

That being said, I HIGHLY recommend doing a clean install of Windows 10. Back up your data, steam library, etc, first. Then wipe the drive and do a clean install. You'll avoid any headaches.

Don't forget to save your Windows 10 key beforehand, too, unless you have it linked to your MS account.

Driver conflicts will be severe. You will need to reinstall Windows. What storage drives do you use?

hyper 212 family are no good for overclocking at all. I'm using one, and I have to use a loud fan to compensate for it.

Current OS in that drive? To keep Windows activation, you have to compress the current partition (to 1.6GB at most). then partition the freed up space as a new virtual drive and install new version of Windows to it with the new CPU and mobo. Windows will detect the old OS and activate the OS automatically. After that, copy the files you want to keep from the old partition to the new one, remove the old partition, and expand/extend the new partition.
