Hello my name is Recon Burrito and I am trying to create a gaming pc and my budget is ~2000$. I have a pc in mind but I want to flush out all the kinks since I have never spent over 150$ before. I have the parts listed on pcpartpicker.com.

You could buy a similar one used. If you don't feel comfortable dropping $2000. If you get a used one, you'd have a working system and you could just upgrade part by part. Spreading it out so you don't have to drop $2000. If you have never built a PC too, you would know if you installed a part wrong, especially if you are just replacing part by part. Plus you get a bunch of spare parts you can just go back and sell and make money back.

Thanks,

Portz:D

1. Get a 1600 instead.

2. You don't need a water cooler.

3. You don't need thermal paste.

4. That's not a good motherboard.

5. That's too much RAM, you can upgrade when prices drop.

6. That's a bad HDD.

7. That's a bad case.

8. Get something like a Corsair CX550M grey label instead.

-get the 1600 over the 1500X

-you could get an air cooler with the same performance for a lower cost (although its up to you)

-thermal paste isnt really necessary, but if you going to buy it, get something better like Thermal Grizzy Kryonaut

-that motherboard is fine

-Your ram is fine too

-i wouldnt touch that HDD with a 10foot pole

-i dont personally like Rosewell cases, but get it if you like it.

- the power supply is decent, but i would consult the Tier List before choosing one(yours is Tier 4)

How do Reavers clean their spears?

The 1500x is quad core and the 1600 is hexa and there's not a big difference in the price

6 cores = better at games/programs that benefit from multicore.

You don't need that H100i for a 1600, the spire stock cooler is enough even if you overclock a bit, thus you don't need the paste

I agree with Tsuki on the HDD, try to get a WD

Don't you think a single 1440p monitor at 120hz would be better?

ASUS X470-PRO • R7 1700 4GHz • Corsair H110i GT P/P • 2x MSI RX 480 8G • Corsair DP 2x8 @3466 • EVGA 750 G2 • Corsair 730T • Crucial MX500 250GB • WD 4TB

I am still working on the monitors. Also what do you think of the Seagate - Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

case doesn't seem to great for the price tbh

I would also wait on the graphics card because new graphics card are gonna be announced, and older pascals chips will become cheaper and drop back down to there original MSRP which is about half what that card is selling for rn and newer amperes will preform better also so yeah.

and lastly your cpu will bottleneck ( hold back ) your graphics card so either a new intel  8XXX processor or better AMD one :D

better

removing the H100i should give you more $ to get a better PSU, aim for 600W just in case you upgrade your rig later

Hmm interesting, I don't see that.

Either way, his suggestions are nevertheless good ones that I would have recommended myself.

higher core count, more threads. the only benefit to the 1500X is XFR, which will give you slightly higher clockspeed. BUT if you manually overclock, XFR is completely disabled so it pointless.

what? no it wont, its not bottlenecking my 1080, so why would it bottleneck a 1070?
