I have had my GPU  R9 380x a few years now (got 2nd hand) and now its starting to artefact in certain situations. (while watching a video, gaming, screen saver) and I think its dying and I was looking for suggestions of a gpu that performs similarly. I'm in Canada and prices are crazy as we all know. Im thinking a 1050ti and was wondering if anyone else thought that would be an ok choice.

Thanks for all the help.

Reseat all the connections to the gpu just to be sure, external power, pcie connector, and video cable. Can you also get a picture of the artifacts? And if you are overclocked try removing that and see if it continues.

I took a video and here are a couple screen grabs (this is while the screen saver is active).  I have reseated all connections and I have never OCed the card.

Ok that definitely looks dead. If you are looking to get a new gpu the pricing is probably going to stay really high for a while.

yeah, i know that. I'm just wondering will going to a 1050ti (which is about all I can afford as that's 330$ CAD) will I see a similar performance or will I notice a decrease in performance?

1050 ti is about 30% slower than your current one. Someone found this just a bit ago in another post in this forum: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LZYPEHK/ref=ox_sc_mini_detail?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&tag=linus21-20

It is in america though but i think it could be possible for you to get it in canada. (not sure how that all works and if you could) and it's at a pretty decent price considering the whole pricing situation.

And if you can't find a cheap 1060 on amazon Canada, here is one of the cheapest 1050 ti's on amazon.ca, and it's 4gb: https://www.amazon.ca/GeForce-DisplayPort-128-bit-Graphic-ZT-P10510A-10L/dp/B01MCU1ERO/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1519760080&sr=1-1

Thanks... Looked into it and with conversion and import fees its close to 500 CAD.

No problem. Didn't know how the import thing worked. You could maybe try looking on craigslist or ebay for used 1060's if you really want one.
