I'm about to build my first computer. I'm coming from having a Mac for 6 years (ew yes I know.)

So I don't know much to anything about installing an OS especially windows. I didn't buy a cd

drive so I'll be attempting to boot the OS from a USB. Will I have to do anything for that to work?

I know I'd have to change the bios to boot from USB before installing but I've seen a couple youtube

videos of them using commands for it to work?

Any help would be appreciated!

EDIT: I have the Windows 7 ISO on a 8gb USB Drive.

If you already have it on the flashkey then you just need to change the boot device in the BIOS. Asus boards use F8 to choose the boot device, but check the motherboard manual for the correct key (or you can fall back to pressing Delete to get into teh BIOS and change the boot devive there.).

Then it is as simple as follow the instructions on screen and wait for it to install.

In some cases, it's as simple as plugging in the USB drive and the BIOS will often detect that there is a bootable OS on there

But otherwise, change the boot disk priority to USB in the BIOS

Sounds simple enough, thanks for the reassurance!

Use http://rufus.akeo.ie And download win7 from http://msft.digitalrivercontent.net/win/X17-59465.iso and you're done its as simple as that, to boot from it simply set the boot priority for USB first through the BIOS. USB 3.0 didn't work for me at first so use one of the USB 2.0 ports from the back
