You shouldn't have put this post here. This should be in Cpu, motherboard and memory section.

 

And, yes it would help but I'm fairly sure that turbo boost boosts all cores unless I'm mistaken.

Used to be everywhere in LTT forums, had a break which lasted apparently 1 year LOL. 

Gonna get up againnnn.

Overclocking on an unlocked processor is a bit misleading. Changing the multiplier only changes the maximum speed the processor can Turbo Boost to. It still has the same base frequency (4.2 GHz in this case), which is the guaranteed frequency the processor will run at barring it's not overheating.

 

In any case, even if it's boosting only one core, it will help performance on anything running on that core.
