Optical vs usb type 3?

Good afternoon, I'm using the Focusrite Clarett 2Pre USB 10-In/4-Out Audio Interface to record music into a computer, and my only two choices are via usb type 3, or optical cable. Which is the better option for recording mainly a guitar signal? Thank you in advance.

Both should have the same quality, but USB is easier.
