Old external harddrive missing power cable.

Watashi

I will be posting a few pictures, however, the issue with the aforementioned HDD is that (I believe it is missing it's power cable). The cable that is missing is the round one. Am I able to purchase a new power cable, and is the HDD able to receive a new shell?

UPDATE: I think the simplest solution would just be to purchase a new enclosure like this one https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817392075.

This isn't an optimal solution to be entirely honest, because my friend will likely still want it to function as an external HDD.

Yeah normally you could transfer the hdd to a new enclosure no problem.

As for the replacement power adapter I found this:

An dead link:

But there is nothing that really helps maybe some one can use these clues to find the replacement.

I think i'll just go with a new enclosure. Thank you for the help though!

I just checked it was released 10 years ago so that is probably a good idea! Good luck.

in my experience, these round power connectors are the first thing to go dodgy on HDD enclosures either way so i'd go with a new enclosure anyways

Had the same thing happen on an old external drive (seems similar design but different brand). I got a different enclosure, and it has a normal round pin, plus easy to read voltage/amps and polarity sticker, should I loose/break the old cable, it's easy to buy a new one now!
