well, the R9 nano is really only meant for small formfactor builds. it is basically a Fury but with a lower power draw and a much smaller cooler. so yeah, if you found one for a good price it is worth it, but it might look super out of place on a larger build :P

Doesn't matter if it's XFX, all R9 Nano's are the same.

As for the GPU itself, it has the same GPU chip as the Fury X, but due to power limitations (because of the size and purpose of the card) it's actually a bit slower than a decent, aftermarket R9 Fury. Which means it should be around the performance of an overclocked RX 580 (~1500MHz).

Keep in mind that the VRAM is kind of an issue here, your friend needs to be aware of the fact that he will need to drop Texture settings down in some games because of the 4GB buffer.

R9 Nano needs good case airflow. Its cooler is small enough for the heat output of the core and insufficient ventilation will lead to high noise level (high fan speed) and high operating temperatures.
