Hello everyone I'm looking for some help, I will be building my new PC this year and this will be my first build and just need some advice on my gpu. I know the price for the graphics cards are crazy but will probably wait until later on the year to buy that, but here is my question. I want to run the Alienware 25 monitor with G-sync, (love the way it looks and the specs) and I want to know what graphics card do I really need in order to enjoy the 240Hz and the 1ms response time. Do I need the 1080 or the 1070 FTW or can I run it with the 980 SC. just trying to find out what graphics card will do well. here is the other stuff I would be getting, also if you think I should get or change anything from this list let me know. if the link doesn't work here is a picture. Again just want the screen to run good. don't need a super expensive card if a lower card can run that monitor fine. Thank You5a86544560663_pcbuild.PNG.98c337873513e393daeacaebeb448dd3.PNG

Dont buy 7700k when 8th gen is out. Get an 8600k.

8th gen uses Z370 mobo only

That cooler isnt up to the task. Get something bigger, like Cryorig R1 for example. Other brands also have similar products.

The monitor is a 1080p 240Hz one, so for esports games a 1080 is a more conservative choice. If you are buying later then you can wait for potential new releases from Nvidia.

For a year you could probably get away with a 980, a 1080 would be better but I would wait to see what cards Nvidia will releasing within the next 3-4 months.

I would wait for the ram to go down then buy 16gb.

1080 would get the job done.

?????

Do you remember the
21st night of September?
Love was changing the minds of pretenders
While chasing the clouds away

Our hearts were ringing
In the key that our souls were singing.
As we danced in the night,
Remember how the stars stole the night away

The 8700k is $10 more with an additional 2 cores and and improved per core speeds.

#1: Don't buy a 7700k. buy an 8700k. much better value, same(ish) price.

#2: Do you have a video card already? anything that can hold you off for another two months? The next generation of gpus might be launching in april, and the price of something like a 1080 would go from $1000 to $300 if that happens. Could even get lower than that, depending on how the new cards perform.

If you don't have anything to use for now, I would buy something temporary like a gtx 780 until prices come down. Though, if money is not a factor, obviously go straight for the 1080 ti and a gsync panel.
