This is a build I'm planning, to be used for video editing and some gaming.

Does anyone see any issues, bad products, places where I could save?

Note the Maximus IX Hero is $200, not $900.

The i5 I may upgrade in future.

Thanks so much!

In my opinion that Motherboard is on the really expensive side...

If you take a cheaper motherboard you can put that money in a better CPU.

Z270 is dead. Try going with Z370.

Pick some 1151 motherboard from Asus (like the Asus Prime Z270-P)... Put the over 100 dollars that you've saved in a 7700k.

PC Specs: Intel Core i7-8700k - Asus ROG Z370 MAXIMUS X HERO - 2x8gb Kingston Predator DDR4 3200MHz - MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Ti gaming X Be Quiet! 1. If you did enough research you should know that Ryzen 5 1600 is much better than any i5, except Coffee Lake. It has higher core count, B350 can overclock and cheaper, stock cooling and performs similar in gaming
  2. If you really want Intel that is an overkill board for just an i5 while using a budget bad value cooler
  3. Unless you really a professional hardcore video editor then an NVMe drive ain't gonna help you at all, costs a lot and does not improve anything
