Lately i'f been having quite abit of trouble with trying to overclock or just get a bit better performance on my gtx 950.

Every time i try Sliding up the GPU boost Clock or the GPU max voltage They either return to 0 or -79 .. which basically makes it worse or more unstable than the shitty gtx 750 i had. when i got  it worked fine moved the gpu boost clock from the standard 1300. to like 1400-1500 depending on what game i was going to play and my max voltage to let system deside or just put it on half.

Problem's i think are doing this

Bugged program

Gpu not picking up changes and just resetting them be to lower.. for some reason?

Orr..

it might be a setting i don't know off.

Things i have tried.

turning the pc on and off.

Use DDU to uninstall drivers then re-download the newest one's

using msi afther burner yet result ina a frozen screen while trying to cap my fps for subnautica and rust.

image.png.90e57c5c2d86e31de4d1bea1a894f166.png

Here u can see dat the boost clock is just in -79...

Please help.

Sadly already tryed dat, yet it up ended up in my screen locking up or just completely freezing.

Without any kind of overclock? My screen only locks with Afterburner when my OC is way too high.

Did you already flash the newest BIOS onto the card?

- Google VGAbios

- Click the first hit, and look up the bios version for your card

- Compare that version with the version GPU-z shows

- Is the VGAbios on techpowerup newer than the one on your card, you could flash it onto the card with NVflash

i used aftherburner for a month yet it got very complicated just lookin at it,i most push the over clock from the standart 1300 Mhz to like 1400+ mHZ depending on what game ima play like lets say teamfortress 2 just 1400 and i am good, most of this i found out my self. yet what i previously could do was have almost a stable 120 most 1 frame differnce. now it just drops like 50-60 evertime seeing i cant use the OC in gpu tweak. yet cant use frame cap on afther burner.

It's not quite "installing".

Step 1: you download the rom file from that site.

Step 2: You create a folder called nvflash on your C: drive

Step 3: Extract the files from the nvflash zip into the nvflash folder you created

Step 4: Place the bios file into the nvflash folder

Step 5: Open device manager

Step 6: disable your display  driver by right clicking your display adapter and click Disable.

Step 7:"open command prompt as administrator (typ CMD in the menu and right-click on CMD and pick "open as admininstrator"

Step 8: typ in: cd C:\nvflash

Step 9: typ in: nvflash64 -6 ROMNAME.rom (ROMNAME = the name of the file you've downloaded from techpowerup)

Step 10: nvflash64 asks a few questions on which you answer Yes (by typing Y in the cmd prompt)

Step 11: re-enable your display driver in the same way as step 6

But you should be really careful  with this... If you mess things up in the process chances are you brick your graphics card!

Do you have the one with power plugs or without?

If you have without you need this one:

https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/183162/Asus.GTX950.2048.160204.rom

If you have the one with the power plugs (6 or 8 pin), you need this one:

https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/183610/Asus.GTX950.2048.150811.rom

PC Specs: Intel Core i7-8700k - Asus ROG Z370 MAXIMUS X HERO - 2x8gb Kingston Predator DDR4 3200MHz - MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Ti gaming X Be Quiet! Ive done some diggin' for you. NVflash says you've got Subsystem 1043.8554.

1043.8554 is the one with the powerplugs.

So you need to download this rom file: https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/183610/Asus.GTX950.2048.150811.rom

You downloaded the wrong file from the site!

Try it again with that file and use command:

nvflash64 -6 Asus.GTX950.2048.150811.rom

PC Specs: Intel Core i7-8700k - Asus ROG Z370 MAXIMUS X HERO - 2x8gb Kingston Predator DDR4 3200MHz - MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Ti gaming X Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 - Samsung 850 PRO 256gb - Samsung 850 EVO 500gb - Seagate Barracuda 2tb - Fractal Design Meshify C - Asus PCE-AC56 - Be Quiet! Straight Power 10 CM 700W.

It looks like you already have the "newest" version of the bios. Because the Current version is the same as the 'Replace with' version... So it probably won't fix your problems :(

You have flashed the correct file onto the card. But it looks like you already had that bios... So it probably won't resolve that much problems. :(
