What motherboard should I need?

Hi, 

I would like to build a new computer with the following specs:

CPU - I7 8700K (overclock to 4.8 GHz)

GPU - GTX 1080 11Gbps Aorus

RAM - 16GB Trident Z RGB

PSU - RM650x

PSU COOLER - NZXT Kraken X62

SSD - 2 SATA drives

HDD - 2 SATA drives

CASE - BeQuiet Dark Base 700

 

I was wondering what motherboard I should choose. I first decided to choose the ASRock Z370 Gaming K6, but I noticed that the ASRock Z370 Taichi is better for a slight price increase. I, however, wonder if there are better / more recommendable motherboards out there.

 

I'd like to have USB-C, at least five USB 3.0 or higher (gen1/2), decent amount of power phases for overclocking.

 

Does anyone know a recommendable one? (Asus currently has a cashback deal)

 

I noticed that the Asus Maximus X Hero is the same price as the Taichi

You would want a Z370.

 

There are better MBs out there, mostly in VRM thermal performance. Otherwise you're just buying features.

I currently narrowed it down to the following:

 

Asus Z370 Maximus X Hero

ASRock Z370 Taichi

 

They both have the same price

 

Which one is the best?

Personally i would go for the Asus one, i have always have a good experiense with their products.

I agree, the Maximus X is a great MB for overclocking.
