SSHDs are useless in almost everything. HDDs or SSDs are the only real options, and for a mass storage device, you'll want an HDD

The only time an SSHD is worth considering is when:

 

>You can only have one drive in the system

>You need a large amount of storage capacity

>You can't afford a large enough SSD

>Using external drive(s) for mass storage is not an option

 

Outside of that situation, they're pretty much a waste of money. Loading games is one of the things they impact the least, yet SSHD manufacturers still insist on marketing them towards gamers, similar to how NVMe drives are marketed towards gamers, despite games being one of the areas that it barely makes any difference to. 

 

If you need capacity, go for an HDD. If you need speed, go for an SSD. Best solution is still to have a dedicated SSD for the OS, programs and some games if there's room and then the HDD for everything else.
