I failed to mention it is windows 7

Okay new realization. The windows disk I'm working with is for refurbished pc. I imagine this is the root of the problem.

I'll go ahead and marked this solved. If anyone can point out another point of contention than this please go ahead.

Okay, so im trying to install Windows from a disk on a pre built computer, but a fresh hardrive.

When I try to install Windows it says it's missing drivers. The only solution I've seen for that is to install via USB which I've tried ,but it runs into another problem "windows failed to start a recent hardware change might be the cause".

When I try windows repair it says it can't reach the hard disk. But the bios says the hard drive is there.

The pre built is a holiday envy tower I'm trying to install a western digital blue 1 tb. The pre built by default had a tb so it's not a storage limit.

What are the specs? There's a chance your PC doesn't have support for Windows 7.

Amd (fx)-6120 six core. 3500MHz

8gb ram

It has some pitiful graphics card in it.

It was shipped with windows 8 installed. I would imagine it could run 7
