Need opinions on new ultra-wide monitor

So time has come to upgrade my BenQ 144hz TN panel. (Non-Gsync) Loved this monitor but its time to enter the ultra-wide family.

 

Been awaiting the pg35vq like alot of people I've seen in forums.  No solid release date or price revealed. Just a rumoured $2000+ AUD and Q2-3 2018.

 

This week the Acer predator x34p has come up on sale for $1500 AUD. But I'm on the fence about purchasing it. The common argument when comparing this to the upcoming x35's is ghosting on VA panels vs none on IPS(x34p). 

 

I considered the original x34 many times too but i can't stand glossy finish and horrible OSD controls. I was keen on the Dell AW3418DW but i can't get that any cheaper than 2000 AUD in Australia atm.

 

HDR is a nice selling point but is it worth potentially $500-$700 more than x34p? 

 

Running a 1080ti/7700k too. Cheers and thanks for any opinions / comments.
