how do i check for hmdi calbe's version?

poopy

i got an elgato 4k60pro, it claims to be able to do 200hz on an hdmi 2.0 cable @ 1080p. i cant get my monitor to go above 60hz without having a still screen or black screen. i used the hdmi cable it came with to connect to the monitor, but the second cable which i got from my tv im not sure if its 1.4 and thats why i cant get anything above 60hz. is there anyway to check hdmi cables for what version they are?

The whole chain needs to be hdmi 2.0 so that means video out and cable unfortuatly hdmi 1.2 1.4 and 2.0 ... all look the same if your lucky there is something written on the cable otherwise buy a 2.0 cable.

NVIDIA doesn't produce any G-Sync modules with HDMI 2.0 support. All G-Sync monitors have HDMI 1.4.

recent ones do

HDMI 2.0 won't be supported until the next G-Sync module revision comes to market, which hasn't happened yet.
