S7 Edge Screen Damage Question.

Hello guys, 

 

I dropped my S7 Edge the other day, and there is a small crack in the corner. I would like to replace it before it spreads, but I dont know if I need new glass, a new digitizer, or both. The touch controls underneath the cracked glass works just fine, and there is no LCD damage anywhere.

it is extremely difficult to replace just the glass on a smartphone. they are sold as a unit with the screen attached for a reason. your best bet is to just get a unit with glass+screen and touch. 

 

if you do want to just replace the glass tough, you would need to separate it from the LCD without damaging the touchscreen. this is almost impossible without special tools tough.

I have a screen replacement kit, so I have all of the tools, i just don't know if I have to replace the digitizer.

that would depend on the kit you bought. 

 

still tough, if you got one of those kits with the plastic prying tools and a piece of glass you need some luck

Well shit, thanks for the advice. I'll attempt replace only the glass.

The screen may cost up to 350$ not to mention its very difficult...
