Hi people of the internet.

I am currently using a DS4 with a 3 meter long (~9ft) USB cable, but I want to be able to use it wirelessly and my PC doesn't have built-in BT. My question to you is if I can just use any bluetooth adapter (another question; which version(s) of BT does the DS4 support?) or am I forced to buy the official Sony adapter?

Thanks in advance ?

Hey My dude,

I used to be wired just as yourself! I was searching everywhere for the official sony dongle, as I thought it was the only way, though i could only get it online, and at 3x the price. so i did some more research, and you can indeed connect it to your computer by other means. I picked up a standard BT/Wireless card from my local PC shop, popped it in and then sync'd the controller and it works like butter ( so long as steam is running for the ps4 controller support ).

To sync a controller to standard blutooth on computer, hold the Share and PS button on the controller until the led on the back starts flashing. once its flashing, it is in pairing mode, then you just go to blutooth settings and hit "add device" it will show up as a "wireless input" with a picture of a controller under it, ( in windows 10 atleast ) hope this helped!

Sorry for my late reply.

Thanks very much for explaining this and saving me a bunch of money.
