Sounds like a dead pump then. Don't open it, since you've just bought it you should be able to contact the company who built it for you, they'll have some warranty policy no? They'll likely just get you a new cooler as it's DOA from the looks of it (or died during shipping or w/e).

I'm sure they test the rigs before sending them out to their customers, but pumps should live more like 3 years than 3 days :P

i  have a 3 year warranty according to them. Should probably just send it back

Specs:
Intel i5 8600k 4,3 GHz (Coffee-lake)

NZXT Lexa S
650 Watt Corsair VS (80 PLUS®)
MSI Z370-A Pro (Coffee-lake)
Asus DVD±RW
Deepcool Maelstrom 120T + extra chassis fan (120mm)
Operating system: Windows 10 Home Premium (Lite version)

Driver= up to date

So i got this desktop with Everything mounted from a famous Company 7th of february and almost immediately i noticed the computer not performing when playing games. As i downloaded speedfan i saw the Cores (0,1,2,3) being at around 83 degrees Celsius (70 degrees while Writing this post) while Everything else is around 30 degrees (see image) 5a7ec554536c0_cputemp.PNG.50907e4bfc898a4daf6a79f11a4d6cfc.PNG
I'm definitely not a very computer literate person but i don't Think the temp. should be at 70 degrees idle. I've checked for virus/threats and for update but these is none. My CPU aldready has a thermal paste and the fan/water cooling/pump seems to be working, even though the fans are at 0 rpm according to the BIOS settings (!)

What could the problem be?

70C idle is definitely too high. Two things come to mind:

1) The mount isn't completely good, easily solved by taking it off and seeing if the thermal paste spread nicely. Then repaste and put it back on.

2) 120mm radiator might not be enough to keep an 8600k cool, though those idle temps are still too high I think.

I use a single 120 rad for my 8600K and oc'd to 4.8ghz it idles at 30C. Definitely not the cpu.

3) it's not actually at idle

I mean, it's possible.  OP, did you actually check task manager or something to see what CPU usage was?

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

Only 4% of the CPU is in use rn and my temp is at 80..

Is your pump on?

I don't know, i don't feel it vibrating.. But atleast the Deepcool logo is lit!

My friend tells me to repaste some thermal paste, cuz the prepasted is crap. I took the pump off and it actually was more paste on the sides rather than the middle where it should be

The cooler doesnt make right contact with the cpu?

maybe, but how do i know if it does?

this may sound stupid, but some people forget to remove the plastic sticker under the cpu cooler. that would be a perfect explanation, unless the cooler isn't tightened down properly.

Yea i should check that, So there could be a sticker where the cpu connects to the cooler?

The thermal paste spread doesn't look too bad. And while the stock stuff may not be the best, usually it's sufficient and wouldn't cause these temps. Repasting never hurts though.

I'd double check the pump first. Is there any slight buzzing sound? Can you feel the water moving through the tubes? No circulation would explain the high idle temperatures as you're basically not cooling.

Oh and this bad performance happend on fornite, gonna try csgo now and see if there is any problem. Which it probably will be

Well of course performance will be bad if you're hitting 70-80C on idle alone.

maybe the water cooler pump should be connected in a different ¨input¨ on the motherboard, rn it is in ¨pump_fan1¨, does it make any different if i change to like ¨sys_fan4¨ or ¨CPU_fan1¨?

The pump header is fine, it's what they're for. Have you tried increasing pump speed in either the BIOS or some MSI software (if that's even possible)?

Everything seems fine on the build side, check the rpm on the pump, than set it to maximum and voltage-controlled (not pwm!!!) and see if temperatures are better.

In the bios it says that the speed of the fan is 0 rpm :/  i Think we could consider that the pump is broken since i don't hear any circulation or water in the pipes, the pump isn't vibrating either.

I read Another post on linustechtips about the same topic, where one guy wrote:¨My xspc res.pump stopped working week on on me.. Freaked me out when i saw the temps. Rapped on it with my knuckle, lightly, and it has worked fine for the last year. Point being it could just be stuck¨

Should i open the pump and try to fix it? xD

oh and btw my desktop isn't loud at all at these degrees, can bearly hear it when i have my headset on
