Hi everyone,

I have a Ryzen 5 1600 system that is currently cooled with the out of the box Wraith Spire.

I was wondering if the Arctic Freezer 33 eSports ONE would be a good upgrade or if something else would be better, if I should upgrade at all.

Note that I'm building in the Phanteks P300 so clearance can be an issue.

Thanks,

Alex

Well the arctic cooler technically is a upgrade 200watts vs wraith 95watts.

Your cpu is 65watts, so you could run that fan at low speed for less noise. But if you aint doing no overclocking then the stock fan is still very good. I love the wraith spire rgb version.

Where are you shopping/located? Budget?

What are you looking for in a cooler?

I'm in Canada, mostly looking on Newegg.
I found the Freezer 33 at around 55$ with tax and shipping.

I'd like to spend as little as possible of course, below 60$ would be perfect.
I'd like something cool, quiet and that looks nice. This one is in my opinion one of the few that look good (the Dark Rock 3 is also nice but twice the price)
My question is more about the difference in performance versus what I have and probing to see is anyone knows of another product I might have missed.

I'm currently overclocked to 3.7GHz.
I would have loved the RGB version but I won't buy a new one off Kijiji just for that.

If you're referring to the 33 eSports ONE, that's a good option. For a black heatsink, there isn't anything better for the price.

If you'd rather give up on that aesthetic for a lower price, the ETS-T40F performs similarly: https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product/TJfmP6/enermax-cpu-cooler-etst40ftb

Just turn the fan speed down the Wraith Spire is a fairly good cooler and pretty good unless you're aggressively overclocking or until you get an R7 chip in my opinion... it's a 100W cooler iirc, and well you say you're OC'd to 3.7Ghz... for comparison sake an Ryzen 1700 is an 8core/16thread part with a 3.7Ghz Turbo clock and it's still only a 65w chip...

So clearly you're not breaking the limits of the spire, if you just want more cooling for the sake of it, I'd say get a hyper 212 and bracket for it on AM4 or a Scythe Ninja 4  and bracket for AM4 those really are atleast my normal goto cooler suggestions unless you wanna shell out the cash for a big AIO or Noctua tower, even then I still usually stick to my Scythe Suggestion in most circumstances.
