Hello all:

I have recently purchased a dell xps 13 9360 laptop with the new intel i7 8th gen processor.  After two weeks my screen decided to freeze and the laptop would not turn off.  No matter what i do it will not turn off (Yes i have tried holding the power button down).  I have spoken to dell and they tell me to wait till tomorrow and you may send it in for 9-12 business days to see if we can fix it for you.  After telling them that a laptop that can not turn off is a fire hazard and is probably dangerous (obviously broken or having a problem), I was instructed to keep it away from anything flammable and hope for the best.  So I could to here asking if anyone has any suggestions or anything that I can do to solve this.

Are you comfortable with opening that bad boy up? My best recommendation might be to unplug the battery. IF you don't have any data on the machine, I would just perform a clean install with an ISO downloaded from the MS site. This will remove the junkware from the machine, and also expand the storage as it clears crappy stock recovery drives.
