YOU WILL LOOSE DATA THIS WAY SO BACKUP ANY IMPORTANT FILES

You have to plug it in to your computer, then go to Computer Management >  Then on the side, click on Disk Management > right click on the correct disk > then click on "Convert to GPT disk"

The picture will show you where exactly to right click

My HDD is a legacy format I think, so it won’t boot into windows. How to I get it to a uefi??

Check your BIOS to see if there are any settings you can change to get it to work. It would be MBR/Legacy mode, or even Windows 7 compatibility mode. Or it could be that Windows was installed using a SATA controller in IDE mode, where a newer one would be set to ACHI by default.

Might not even have that function on a newer motherboard

When I do that it’s locket on uefi

If you go to Advanced Settings>Windows OS Configuration

Then set:

Windows10 WHQL [Disabled]

Windows7 installation [Enabled]

Then go back to boot mode and the setting should allow you to set UEFI+Legacy

However if your Windows installation on your old computer wasn't  originally in AHCI mode it still won't work and probably the best solution is to reformat.

There is a way of changing it from IDE to AHCI but you would need to put it back in the old PC and do some fiddly things with drivers and registry values.
