Need help "cracking" a password

Go to solution Solved by LtStaffel,

It's really hard to give a hint without giving it away entirely; so I will just say the following:

The answer is not on any of those screenshots, but the location of the answer is.

PM me if you need more help.

Edit: You say if we need more screenshots to ask. I almost certain the answer is in the login js file you can see the link to in the source of the html. Hope that doesn't give it away too easily.

Hello there, don't let the title scare you. I'm in a class for computer security, and our teacher has set up a page with 20 tasks. We are to crack the passwords on all 20 of them. I've already done kit 1 + 2, but I'm stuck on the 3rd one. The username is always the same on all kits. Kit 1 & 2 had the correct passwords in the source code + JavaScript file. Others outside the university can't connect to this page, so I will attach some pictures. It's in Norwegian, but I will translate:

  • Button saying "glemt passord" means "forgot password". When clicked, a text at the top displays saying: "mail was sent to: *********@h*of.no". This can also be seen in the source code.
  • When pressing the "log in" button without any password/correct password, the message at the top simply says: "wrong password".

Attaching pics from site + source code below. Does anyone have any idea or tips how I can find the password?

Edit: Let me know if you need more info from source code or other information.

Join the Appleitionist cause! See spoiler below for answers to common questions that shouldn't be common!

Spoiler

Q: Do I have a virus?!
A: If you didn't click a sketchy email, haven't left your computer physically open to attack, haven't downloaded anything sketchy/free, know that your software hasn't been exploited in a new hack, then the answer is: probably not.

Q: What email/VPN should I use?
A: Proton mail and VPN are the best for email and VPNs respectively. (They're free in a good way)

Q: How can I stay anonymous on the (deep/dark) webzz???....

A: By learning how to de-anonymize everyone else; if you can do that, then you know what to do for yourself.

Q: What Linux distro is best for x y z?

A: Lubuntu for things with little processing power, Ubuntu for normal PCs, and if you need to do anything else then it's best if you do the research yourself.

Q: Why is my Linux giving me x y z error?

A: Have you not googled it? Are you sure StackOverflow doesn't have an answer? Does the error tell you what's wrong? If the answer is no to all of those, message me.

Here is the login JavaScript file, but I don't understand anything out of it.

How many input boxes are there on the page?

How do you identify them?

What is a common data structure used for storing multiple items?

If you're interested in a product please download and read the manual first.

Don't forget to tag or quote in your reply if you want me to know you've answered or have another question.
