There is nothing much you can do. All process of cleaning CPU and reapplying thermal paste for maximum decrease in temps requires opening the laptop.

@deXxterlab97 soo I should take the risk ?

If the performance of your CPU is underwhelming then yes. But personally I would not. That is a very old CPU and the benefit you gain is small.

Laptops can get to uncomfortably high temps pretty fast.

Especially older ones, I assume thermal paste has gotten old or something.

Same has happened to my old laptop, fan can spin as violently as it wants but if the die is not connecting with the cooler with proper cooling solution in between it's not going to do as well. Like that old thing wont turn off without overheating :P

THat's what I think at least.

Id reccomend opening it up, sure it might be scary, but will be worth it in the long run, reapply thermal compound and try dusting it with a q-tip and a vaccum. It is worth it trust me.

I hAve an unfinished pc build. Pls dont bully for not having one yet or i cry.

Vacuuming doesn't help.  The cooling fins always get clogged on the inside, never at the outside.  You'll need to open up the laptop and take off the fan so that you can access the inside of the fins and remove the carpet of dust, hair or whatever else got sucked in by the fan.

You should be able to find disassembly instructions for your model of laptop on Youtube, or perhaps on iFixit's site.

With a CPU that old and a laptop running hot on a regular basis, you'll probably need to replace the thermal paste as well.
