I have this old xp laptop in which I have installed a program call up to date in 2008. Now since it's drive is failing I need to reinstall it in my new laptop. Any way I can do this. I lost the original install disk as it was 10 years ago.

Unless it's a dumb program in which case you could just copy its content (but its probably not), you can't do this. One way of doing this would be trying to clone the original failing drive and hope it's not corrupted and just run the drive on a different system, hoping it will work (which again, it probably wont). I've had luck doing the latter when the disk luckily booted up on a different system and the programs ran fine. It isn't a good solution though as the system on the drive was firstly installed on different hardware than it is running now.
