What would be the best program to test a GPU for artifacts?

Ok I am selling my old R9 380 2GB on craigslist,and i did a boot test in a old 775 pc and I got a weird artifact on the monitor splash screen.

 

I use that monitor every day, and never had any problems,but i did use ten year old DVI to HDMI cord, mabye the cord was bad but i would rather be safe than sorry.

 

I already ran Heaven for about 30 minutes and got nothing.

 

Are there programs that you can suggest that will coax it to artifact of it is going to?

 

Because i want to make sure it is good,and if it is not i can RMA it.

Valley is where I mostly see artifacts first or Fire Strike but mostly Valley.

Benchmarks are not great at producing artifacts unless you're overclocking.

 

You need a stress test.

I find Furmark is the ultimate torture test for a GPU. If you want to find chinks in the proverbial armor, Furmark will do it.

The Rainbow X58: i7 975 Extreme Edition @4.2GHz, Asus Sabertooth X58, 6x2GB Mushkin Redline DDR3-1600 @2000MHz, SP 256GB Gen3 M.2 w/ Sabrent M.2 to PCI-E, Inno3D GTX 580 x2 SLI w/ Heatkiller waterblocks, Custom loop in NZXT Phantom White, Corsair XR7 360 rad hanging off the rear end, 360 slim rad up top. RGB everywhere.

Valley is more like a benchmark test for GPUs. As @Master Disaster said, MSI Kombustor is great for testing if your GPU will display some artifacts. 

PS: Sometimes instead of an artifact you could also get a crash from Kombustor.

Usually any issues will show in a few minutes but a 30 minute run should be fine.

It's a torture test, it only has one run.

 

Just keep a close eye on temps and don't leave it alone for too long, it has the capability of destroying your GPU if something goes wrong.
