my frnd had updated to creators update long ago ...  update went through well with no apparent problem ( updated through upgrade assistant) .... but recently... he noticed his pny cs1311 240 GB ssd was showing performance issue..... not by that much  but noticeable......

Windows loads little slower than at anniversary update . ..apps launched slow... comparably

then he had a doubt about it... and then benchmarked it..... noticed that write speed was 10-15 MB/s slow then at anniversary update and read speed was about 10 MB/s slow... What could be the problem? He provided me with this screenshot

I very much doubt that a windows update was responsible for this. Perhaps the drive has lived through its life? This isn't exactly a high quality one either. And SSDs can fail in very different ways each time.

no...since he installed creators before and installed anniversary update after for checking ...... benchmark value increased............only 1.5 TB was written....

Have him swap cables and SATA ports on the drive and see if that helps.

What laptop model does he have? Asking because some laptops still used SATA2 and not SATA3 up until recently because something something cheap manufacturers.

Is it a single bay laptop? My laptop has two 2.5" drive bays. If the machine in question has two try the other one. Or does it have an optical drive? You could pull the optical drive and see if the hard drive performs better on that connector.
