I am pretty sure it has alloooooot of potential

still doesn't perform as good as say a 2500k

but i think some records have been broken with it

or... some FX chip

If I had one wish, I would ask for a big enough ass for the whole world to kiss

1.5 volts usually get you 4.8+ Ghz , 1.42 volts will get you about 4.5 Ghz and 1.3 will get you about 4.2 Ghz .

There is a trick with the FX chips, go to your BIOS and disable one core per module , you'll be able to get 500 MHz more on the same voltages , you'll be running a true 4 core cpu with 4 modules each having one processor and not sharing the resources with another processor.

Use this one core per module mode for general usage and gaming , and enable the cores back when you intend to do any heavily threaded stuff.

This will also improve power consumption MASSIVELY !

I am currently running an FX-8120, the FX-8120 and FX-8150 will OC to within 150mhz. of each other and I believe that the only difference is the binning process to find higher stable clocks for the FX-8150. But with a slight OC they are the same from what I can tell (correct me if I'm wrong please). But I currently have my FX-8120 OC'd to 4.7Ghz. @ 1.4375V (210x22.0) I do have an XSPC Water Cooler and my temps. have yet to go over 45C. But my ambient temp. is a little chilly because in NY it's cold this time of year and I hate having crazy heat bills at the end of the month :) I'll paste a link to a video with the water cooler and everything setup in my case, and I'll do another vid now for the OC because I recently installed a new SSD and did a fresh install of Windows. Regardless it came out very nice and I find that the FX Chips OC quite easily and with proper cooling can get great results. If you go to 6:00 minutes into the video you can see the custom sound Activated LED's that I install, looks sweet.

If you have it running at 45c why not push it even further ?

Also did you try the one core per module trick ? it really does work, instructions per clock do improve believe it or not , due to eliminating resource sharing .

please do think about your temperatures. those monsters will put out a LOT of heat (and the cpu can only take MAX 70 degrees, withint 62 and 70 degrees, your system becomes unstable fast).

and also, bear in mind that your NB may not be hotter than 75 degrees, most of the time the NB is hotter than the fx chip.

"People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect. But actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff."

Dont understimate my skillsz, you might look foolish.

Thanks for all the help guys, will post results a little later :)
Don't forget to try the "disable one core per module" trick.
