P5VD2-VM SSD not recognized

I have an old P5VD2-VM motherboard which I would like to connect an SSD to, but it's not being recognized. I read that the BIOS for this motherboard has an issue which prevents it from seeing SSDs, but a custom BIOS could solve this problem.

Does anyone have any idea where to find this (or instructions on how to get started making one)?
