CAS latency

The exact same looking DIMM by the same manufacturing won't work with the other if they have different timing and latency? There is no way 15-15-15-35 will work with 17-17-17-39, right?

it can but usually timing is set to worst one, (in that case 17-17-17-39)

It should work, but only as fast as the slowest component.

Ah okay, thanks. I was thinking frequency is more flexible, but timings weren't.

You could try and narrow the timings down a bit to get a number in between the two. I would start by shortening them all by 1 then running a benchmark to make sure the system is stable.

Haha oh no I'm set. I bought all 32gb of my DDR4 around October of 2016, stable 15-15-15-35 @2400. I'm just double checking for someone trying to build in today's prices.
