I do apologies in advance if this is not the correct place  Anyway. I'm stuck, looking for jobs for a while since my last contracting job ended in November. I want to get into Cyber Security. I've got a degree in Networking the grade I got 2:1. I want to expand my knowledge and rather than stay at home and doing nothing. I've got qualification such as CCNA and CCNP. Too bad most companies need people with actual long term experience.

Anyway, I need to know If I should go back to College (UK) or find online courses.

Thanks

If you want to go into cyber security I suggest also looking into MCSA Server and Cloud certifications (that's what I'm doing now too).
And indeed it's very hard to get into cyber security. I myself hope to first get some system management or network management jobs to build the experience, and from there go into secuirty.

Also you might want to look into certifications regarding penetration testing.

Forgot to mention that I know how to setup domains, manage Exchange 2010 and 2016, etc. During my contracting work I'd work with the Desktop and Server team.

Then I'd mostly suggest to install kali linux and learn how to use that :).

What exactly do you mean by "cyber security"?

Security is a very broad subject these days and there isn't really a generic "cyber security" job as far as I know.

I assume it's CCNP Routing and switch you got, right? Why not get a job as a networking consultant or something along those lines? If you want more experience with network security then CCNA or CCNP Security are good. That's specifically network security though.

Security+ is the only generic-type certification that I can think of that might be applicable to what you're talking about.

As for what you'd parlay that into, it's hard to say. With CCNA and CCNP, finding a job shouldn't be that hard. Ultimately depends on exactly what you're looking to do.
