Rgb fans

I have a asus z170 and a masterbox lite 5 case. It us three rgb fans in the fr By and if I’m correct I need a controller in order to make the fans light up? Also to make the fans work do I just plug them in the psu? Or do I plug them in cha_fan on the mobo
