Hey guys,

So I thought I would post on here to get some ideas.

I will be changing cases for my PC soon and thought I might as well change coolers as well. I currently have a Corsair H100i GTX AIO. It has been ok i guess. Corsair Link I never used as it was always buggy and conflicted with AI Suite 3. The only reason I use AI Suite 3 is for the fan controller.

For the past few weeks I have been looking into what new cooler to get and am really liking the the Noctua NH-D15S (air cooler). From what I have found, this air cooler seems to work the same if not better than some AIO's and cheaper as well. The case I will be getting is the Coolermaster MasterCase Pro 5 (new one when it comes out soon) and the clearance for the CPU cooler tower is 190mm which is enough as the Noctua seems to be around the 171mm mark with dual fans.

So what would you guys thoughts be on this; go with Noctua or do you guys recommend any other better coolers. The main purpose would be for extremely long work and gaming hours; pretty much will be on 24/7 and gaming for like 12hrs a day or so. I think the other reason I am leaning to this is because of the set up for the AIO on my mobo. To get more control of the fans have it set up as follows; water pump into water_ pmp header; one fan into the cpu_fan header and the other into cpu_opt fan header (as opposed how the book says by plugging everything being plugged into a splitter/ adaptor and then plugged into the one cpu_fan header). I found that plugging it in this way keeps the whole thing quieter and control more of the fans, but I think I lost the ability to control the pump... So i though and air cooler this time around would be much more simpler.

Thanks.

I've heard good things about the Dark Rock Pro series from bequiet!. Those are a lot more aesthetically pleasing than any Noctua cooler, I'll say that.

Dark rock pro 4 is coming out soon, other than that an nh-d15 is the best thing on the market.

What makes you think you lost control of the pump?

For example, when I set it up how the book says, I could control the pump speeds through corsair link, but not AI Suite 3... and AI Suite 3 is the only fan controller I like using because it keeps the fans quieter than corsair link for some reason. When I set up the cooler how I mentioned, I can only control the fans in ai suite 3 and the pump just operates based on the fan speed... i can no longer change it...
