i own an old netbook, which i've decided to dust off and find a use for. specs:

intel atom n570 1.66ghz

2GB ram

old 60GB SSD

intel graphics

10.1 inch 1024x600 display

i'm currently downloading manjaro i3, i still need to figure out if it works reliabely. it boots to BIOS without crashing, so that's a good sign.

thing is, i don't know what to do with it. it's too slow to comfortably run Windows because of the low ram...

the battery is still good as far as i know. keeps it running for more than 4 hours last time i used it.

anyone know what i could use it for?

Why not fold a bit on it? It won't be very effective but every little bit of power can help :)

it'll probably break... the cooling is not that great... it gets toasty installing Linux...

Without a specific use case, you're mostly looking at some Linux OS experimentation with some of the lightweight distros out there if you're into that sort of thing; something like Arch, PIXEL, Lubuntu, Puppy etc...

When I get home later, I have an Optiplex 160 at home I'm going to see what I can get running on it since it's pretty low specs. Remix OS and some other Android x86 ones haven't worked yet. Will probably have to settle for something a little more normal.
