my pc started doing something weird recently. during normal use, my audio will cut out for a second, then resume playing, and a message will pop up saying i "unplugged a device from the audio jack", but my music will resume playing...

It could mean the port is damaged.

It has ALC chip though so you should be able to at least disable automatic jack sensing in the realtek audio settings. That should stop the popup.
