HELP! Pc wont display

I just upgraded my cpu from an pentium g4560 to a i5 6500. The problem is my pc powers on stays on but refuses to display anything. I put the old cpu in and it worked fine, and i also reset the bios... my specs are mobo - b250m pro-vd gpu - gtx 1060 3gb ram - 8gb and a 450 watt psu

Does the motherboard support the CPU?

If so does it require a bios update?

Have you plugged your cable into the graphics card and not the motherboard?

Have you plugged your cable into the motherboard in case the graphics card is not detected?

Yep, everything is compatible and everything worked with the old cpu.

Bent pins? I just had that problem fixed it with a razer blade.

No, i inspected it. The pc worked with the old cpu.

Yes

When you clear the CMOS, it resets the BIOS to default, which includes setting the default video output to the iGPU, not your discrete GPU. You'll have to fix that later in the BIOS. When you clear the CMOS, it's not setting it back to the old BIOS, it's clearing all user input values from your new BIOS.

So, next steps: Set the primary video output to PCIe1 or whatever slot your gpu is in, then restart until you get display off it takes a few tries sometimes.

 

If you done that as well, I'll have to do more research.

Still nothing, maybe a bad cpu? Can a pc still turn on with a bad cpu? Also my motherboard has a diagnostic led but it stays off which is good but i wonder if the motherboard cant detect the bad cpu.

A bad cpu is a bit rare, but no it won't post if the cpu is bad. Is it new or used?

Used from an actual company, e-cyclepro, they provide refunds but if its not the cpus fault for the problems i dont want to run into this problem again.

Have you tried testing the system again with the old cpu because if it posts with the old cpu it is most likely a faulty cpu

Yes ive tried the old cpu in it and everything works fine.

Its very odd, sounds like a dead cpu, which is unusual
