So I am confused about how keyboards are utilized for gaming. In fps or many other types of games, you can strafe or move at various speeds on console, but on PC if I wanted to slowly move around a corner instead of a full speed strafe how do you utilize the keyboard for that movement. Because as far as I can tell, when you push a key it is an instant full-speed input. Is there something I'm not thinking of?

shift

if shift doesn't slow you down, then .. it's probably a bad game

dont forget about acceleration and deceleration speed, you can just tap w and it'll be slower I guess
