I'm thinking about making my own custom mini ITX pc case. I know that there are a lot of them on the market but I think that they all are either too small or too large or maybe I'm just too picky. So hear me out please before you're going to judge me.

Today you can jam the the most powerfull components in the tiniest spaces but you have to sacrifice the cooling. For example Dan A4-SFX. Ofcourse you can put Noctua cooler but still if you put i7 in there but it won't be running very cool or quiet. Then there are cases like Cooler Master Elite 110 where you can get AIO watercooler but only with 120mm radiator. The last category is the small big ITX cases like Corsair 250D or Fractal Design Core 500. They are pretty small but still big in my opinion.

Another thing is that computer case market for itx boards have't adoppted for the SFX psu size. There are new cases comming out with sfx native support but still the problem is either the inability por 240mm radiator or are still huge fo instance Caselabs cases.

Third thing is the ability to hold decent GPU. GPU market is ITX friendly but why should you compromise and buy only ITX GPU when there are so few to choose from and it there are any they are not that powerfull.

So I've started thinking if there is a possibility to design a case that can support 240 mm radiators, decent sized GPU, SFX psu, look good and stil be small. Firstly I've vent to google and searched for dimensions of all the components took some paper and ruler and started drawing. Yes drawing on paper I know it's rare these days and I know that there are many cad programs for design but that's the way I did it. So after a few tries I'we fired up ZW3D and started designing and here is what I've come up with.

I've figred out it should hold everithing, look good and be small but just to be shore i went online downloaded a few 3d models and voila it fits.

Right now I'm working on the top front bottom and side pannels. Since everybody here watches linus we all know about Protocase. I was thinking to order the case from them but I'm not expert and I know that i've certainly made some errors during design, you can see it even on 3D model with gpu, the motherboaard is right but gpu sticks out (the gpu cutout was hell to design since all the dimensions I've found had completely different dimensions), and I don't know how much could the case cost since I don't know how much errors I've made.

So my question is has anybody experience with designing a case and can give some tips or with ordering a case from Protocase ?

I will be following up with the panel pics when they are finished.

Ncase m1, supports up to 2 240mm radiators and uses sfx psu

Do you have $2000-3000 for protocase?

That's just what I was affraid of, I was hoping it to be around $1000.

Yes but only looking at it it's obvious it would be a hell to put in any AIO fo instance Corsair uses so thick tubing it's a challenge to work with it even in full ATX cases or NZXT has a long tubing so it would be intreally interresting to find space for it.
