What miner hardware should I buy for Antpool (Mining Pool) ?

For a newbie is Antpool a good first step?

 

Should I join Slush Pool instead? Since its more popular from what I read.

Why do you want to mine with antpool? It has the biggest fee..... If you really want to mine bitcoin, get ready for huge investments, upwards of 3000$. If you'd settle on an altcoin (ethereum, zcash etc), you could mine with GPU's which are (currently inflated) but still cheaper than ASIC miners, and the latter are mostly pre-order only.

There are tons of calculators online for calculating your return of investment and how much you make per day... Just google it... The one i use is https://www.cryptocompare.com/mining/calculator/eth

Google your specific cards hashrate, check your electricity price and it will show up how much you'll make. You can do this for practically every currency to see if it's worth it, but don't go GPU mining Bitcoin. Bitcoin is only profitable when its mined with expensive ASIC miners

Rx570 and 580's the same

your inputs are off abit, you will be closer to 180w for system power (GPU 100-120w, 40-60w for system power), 6gb 1060 will do close to 26mh/s on etc at around 120w, a 3gb will do around 20mh/s. most dev pools are 1-2% so i generally base off of 2% to be on the more realistic side of things, and as long as your power input per kw/h is close then you will be CLOSE to actual numbers (i say close because its never exact).

Well i don't know if you did it right, but we can check lol. If your hashrate is 25MH/s, and the power consumption is 100W (which i believe could bewrong, as you probably only considered your GPU's power draw but not the whole systems), and your electricity price is 0.052, then, yeah, it's correct. 

 

Some GPU's can have modded BIOS-es on them which increase the hashrate even more and decrease the power draw. You can try increasing your memory clock and decreasing the power limit with MSI afterburner to see how low can you go and how low you can decrease the power draw.

I read I should go with 6Gb where possible.

Newegg USA (.com) has a good deal on 6gb 1060, but not Newegg Canada (.ca)

Local stores what I listed previously in stock.

so $65/m on a $350 gpu aint bad even if I get 2 months out of it.

closer to $400 with 1 in stock, didnt realize most are out of stock

at the moment, what ever you can get the best deal on works. I have everything from 1050ti's up to 1080ti's and even a Titan mining currently on the nvidia side of things. 

 

All depends on what you want to do, if this is for gaming/casual mining to recoup money and try the crypto world, then get the best card you can that you would game on, if your just mining, then the decision is up to you on the route to take, sometimes two cards can be better than one, sometimes 1 card is better than two, all depends on what you are doing.

if you are going nvidia cards, eth is probably not the best to mine, the difficulty has gone up a decent amount, and there are other coins that will make more. Eth will also be switching sometime this year to a hybrid proof of stake which is all up in the air as to what its going to do mining/price wise.
