NAS Newbie

Hi All,

 

I currenly have 2 hard drives 1x WD Blue 2Tb and 1x WD Green 2Tb on a Orico usb hdd dock.  I want to upgrade to a proper NAS.  I'm thinking of buying a 2 bay Synology and put my old drives to it or build a custom nas.  I have max $500 budget.

The Synology 2 bay NAS boxes are excellent. My DS215j has never skipped a beat. For general purpose storage look no further. It's super easy to setup as well.
