I’m building my friend a budget PC and just want to ask if you have suggestions in the parts that’ll be using. I’m giving him my old PC case and CPU cooler because I’m not using it anymore.

Case: Silencio 352

Mobo: Asrock B250M-HDV

CPU: G4560

Cooler: CM 212x

GPU: GTX 1050ti

RAM: 1x8GB Kingston 2400mhz

PSU: 500W

Storage: 1TB Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm

I picked an 1x8GB stick because I told him it would be much easier to upgrade because the motherboard has only 2 ram slots, rather than buying a dual channel 2x4GB kit.

I was planning on using the HDD on his old laptop but unfortunately the G4560 doesn’t support intel optane memory.

Budget/Country?

Should get an R3 1200 instead so you're at least on AM4 with like an ASrock Pro4

Least then you have an actual upgrade path.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

Get something better. Amazon reviews mean little to nothing. You need a load tester and other expensive gear to actually find out how good a PSU is. This unit is only 400-500 yen more, but so much better, has actual reviews and is a name brand (which doesn't really matter).

Can you really not spend 1000 yen more? If you can't, save up. Eat something cheap like Mickie D's or Moshi Burger for like a week or two or maybe even cup noodles, and save up for that units. It's worth the 1000 yen.

If it is my PC yes I can spend ¥1,000 more for a better PSU. But no, i am sticking to a budget that was given to me.
